Congratulations on deciding to sign up for duty with the Confederation! At this single-page entry form you will be able to enter details about your new character, and choose a position on the simulation that you wish to join. The information you submit will allow us to get you started right away.

Step 1: Simulation and Post

    The first step is to select the simulation you wish to join. Below is a list of UCIP's current simulations and any open positions they may have. Please browse through the list and once you find a suitable simulation, select a position that appeals to you from those available. Simulations marked in RED are newly commissioned and must succesfully complete a trial run before they are officially a part of UCIP.

    There are 3 categories of simulations in UCIP:

    • Live - Played weekly at the same day/time as your crewmates, in Chat Room or IRC Channel. This is action-based, live collaboration and improvising style of roleplaying. Click here for information about IRC.
    • Message-Based - Played by writing cooperative fiction and posted via E-Mail or Message Board, sometimes also known as "PBeM". This is a story-based approach about you and your crewmates, resulting in in-depth roleplaying.
    • Multi-Platform - A combination of both forms mentioned above. Usage between IRC and E-Mail varies from SIM to SIM, so be sure to check with your CO/XO.

    16 out of 20 active simulations have one or more openings available for you to join.

• Your application will be sent to both the Confederation Academy and to the Captain (leader) of the SIM you are joining. Expect to be contacted via email in 2 to 5 days. If too much time has gone by without response, contact apps@ucip.org.

• As a new member you will be subscribed to the UCIP Announce mailing list. This mailing list will carry often important or useful announcement that may affect you as a member.
