BACKGROUND:	-- Family Details -- Father: Constantine Savakis (Greek). He was a gardener. Passed away 8 years ago. Mother: Marnie McLeod (Betazoid & Irish). She was an elementary school teacher. Passed away 8 years ago. Brother: Teofile Savakis (Older). He currently works as an architect and structural engineer on Earth. He lives in Kelona, BC, Canada with his wife, Madaline, and his two children, Stewart (3yrs old) and Anya (1yr old). Sister: Georgina Savakis (Younger). She is currently attending Starfleet Academy and is in her 3rd year. She is taking Science and specializes in Botany. -- Growing Up -- She grew up in Medicine Hat and had your average urban childhood. Her parents were in the middle-income range so she and her siblings go the necessities but not many extras as they were growing up. They were a close family though and her parents made sure their children understood the importance of family and family life. Her earliest memory would be from when she was nine years old. She and some neighbor kids had been playing together one afternoon and they thought it would be fun to throw some rocks at some windows. They made a game of it to see how many pieces the windows would break into. In the middle of their game they were caught by one of the adults in the neighborhood and were seriously reprimanded for it. Each of their parents were notified and Athena remembers marking off each day she was grounded on her calendar. She had basic schooling throughout her childhood, but school was something she never really enjoyed much. When she tried she did very well but it wasn’t very often that she put an honest effort in. It wasn’t really until she entered Starfleet Academy that she began to actually put some effort into school and even then she preferred extra curricular activities over her studies. When Athena was fourteen years old her parents were killed in a shuttle accident. From that point on her older brother sort of took responsibility for her and her younger sister. After her parents died, Athena went through a phase in her life where she rebelled against her older brother as much as she could. As a result, the two of them didn’t get along too well for the longest time. It hasn’t been until recently that she has made an effort to make amends with him. Through her pre-teen and teenage years Athena wanted nothing more than to be in a band. Her father taught her how to play the guitar and mandolin when she was a child (6-7 years old). It not only became more than a hobby for her but after her parents died it became an emotional attachment to her father. It simply wasn’t something she was willing to set aside for anything for many years of her adolescent life. Athena was popular throughout her teenage years. As part of the rebellion against her brother’s authority, Athena had a period of a few years where her choice of friends was somewhat questionable. Her poor choice of friends often led her into trouble. Her first kiss was probably when she was fifteen years old. This is her best guess anyway as she doesn’t actually remember the event in question. She heard from friends the night after a bush party about her behavior the night prior. Apparently after a few drinks and some skinny-dipping her friends caught her making out with a sophomore by the name of Ani Starr. -- Past Influences -- Athena would consider the most important event of her life so far to be the day entered Starfleet Academy. The reason for this being that it was one of the first steps in a difficult process to change her life and turn things around for herself. Athena would consider the greatest achievement in her life, so far, the day she graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy. The most influential person in her life would be her best friend, Carmen de la Pica Morales. Carmen was unlike Athena’s other friends while she was a teenager. Carmen was interested in school and doing well and she became a strong influence on Athena when she was at a breaking point in her life. One of the many times Athena found herself in trouble with authority or the law, Carmen basically pulled her out of it and helped her to stay out of it. Ultimately, Carmen was the main person who influenced Athena to enter Starfleet Academy. The greatest regret Athena has is that of letting her siblings down for so many years. The circumstance of their parents’ death in a way drew them closer together than they were before but at the same time it forced certain rifts in their relationships with one another. She would consider the time when she and some friends stole some alcohol from a local liquor store to be the most evil thing she has ever done. Although they were caught, she was too young at the time to be given an official criminal record. When they were caught it became the time in her life when she was most frightened. At the same time she got an adrenaline rush from the entire experience… which is never a good thing. The most embarrassing thing to ever happen to Athena took place when she was in her third second year at Starfleet Academy. After working out in one of the Academy’s gymnasiums, she went to the communal showers to freshen up. While she was showering some of her friends and roommates stole her clothing, towels, etc. and hid them from her. So when she got out of the shower she couldn’t find her things anywhere and had to make her way, across the campus, back to her room. At first she was a little ticked off at them for doing this, then she was embarrassed by the entire thing, but before long she realized it was actually quite liberating in the end. Her all-time best memory would be at a time before her parents’ accident. They were a very close family and almost made a ritual out of family outings and meals. Her best memories are from times when her family was altogether. Her all-time worst memory would be from the day her parents got into the shuttle accident. She had been pulled out of class while in school and told the news that they had been in the accident but no specific details were given. It wasn’t until later that day when she was brought to the medical facility that they told her that her parents were no longer alive.

When off duty, she generally wears baggy clothing and doesn’t usually make a big deal out of appearances. She has two tattoos: One is on her left arm of asian symbol and the other is across her shoulder blades of an eagle with its wings spread apart.
