BACKGROUND:
Morgana Kanryth was born in 2272, in the Delta Quadrant on Sylva Four. Her parents, wealthy Sylvan landowners, quickly arranged a marriage for her to the son of a powerful member of the Nobility. The first three decades of her life were spent in luxury. Her parents spoilt her, schooling her well and allowing her whatever she wanted. The only problem arose when she first met the man she was to marry. Being three times her age, comparitively imbecilic and airheaded Morgana wanted nothing to do with him. For the first time in her life, her parents put their foot down and insisted she obey tradition and marry the man they had chosen for her.

Her world turned upside down, Morgana spent the next two years trying to find a way out of her arranged marriage but to no avail. The wedding was to take place on her 33rd birthday and she had no way to break her betrothal, so in desperation she stole what money she could from her parents house and ran away. Naturally her family hired people to find her and bring her back home, but by the time they had taken that step she had bribed her way out of Sylvan space.

Over the next fifty five years she avoided the people her family sent after her, skipping from one planet to the next, each time moving further and further from home. Eventually she ended up on the edge of Federation space and got her first taste of a true spaceborne civilisation. It was something that truly appealed to her, so she slowed down her pace and spent some time in the Federation. One of the things that caught her attention was Starfleet. Constantly seeing news stories and reports of the work Starfleet was doing to explore the galaxy and protect the Federation and it's citizens, she felt that she would have something to contribute to it after her years moving across the galaxy.

In what was possibly the 5 hardest years of her life, Morgana managed to graduate near the middle of her class at Starfleet Academy. She just managed to earn her passing grades, but still required an extra year due to her status as a non Federation citizen. Her excellent physical condition pulled her up from the bottom of the class when she graduated. Despite the tough times she endured trying to make it through the Academy, it gave her the push she needed to pick her life up and do something other than thrift her way through the galaxy. She also got her first experience of real friendship during her time in San Francisco. As a drifter she had never really stayed in one place long enough to form lasting friendships.

Not being the most technically minded person in the Fleet, Engineering and Science were not the ideal choices for Morgana. So, despite being 5'0 and lightly built she requested a security assignment. Her amazing natural agility and acute senses more than made up for her lack of physical strength and she excelled at her job. Working up through the ranks over the course of the next thirty years she eventually earned her first command, the USS Galaxy. She has commanded three ships in total, the latest being the USS Dirae.
